Listen outside, For crickets and birds, Down at the rink, A discouraging word

In realms where shadows dance and play, A circle of stones marks the day. No hands to glide, Yet time won't hide, This solar wizard's on display.

In the hold of the ship, where cheese be the lure, A snapper awaits, with a promise unsure. Ye critter of whiskers, beware the sly thief's snare, For the treasure ye seek, tis not quite fair.

I'm a creature of wind, a playful delight, Dancing on strings, in the open sky's light, A box or a diamond, my shape may take, I soar and I twirl, for a joyful sake.

I may grow in stone or shine at a feast, formed by the earth or crafted at least. Fragile or firm, I shimmer with light, what am I, clear and bright?
