I have two arms but cannot hug, I glide and snip, not crawl or tug. With every chomp, I take a bite, yet have no teeth to grip you tight.

I sit on your face but I’m not a frown, I help you see when you’re looking down. In water I’m clear, on land I might fog. Strap me on tight, I’m your vision hog!

With teeth I grin but never bite, a spine, locked up tight. My dance begins with pull or tug, I part and join with perfect snug. I walk no path, yet run a track, once closed, I never leave a crack.

I once stood tall, with leafy pride,
but now I rest, my rings inside. By fire I'm fed, by axe I'm split, on forest floors, I sometimes sit. I'm not a frog, yet I still croaked, What am I, once part of oak?
