My first, a boundary of decorative foliage. My second, an animal of gluttony and uncleanness. Altogether, another creature, quite meek yet known as prickish.

I have wings and hunt with keen sight, or I am flown on a windy delight. One of me is living, fierce and free, the other is a toy that dances with glee.

Floating flames are my fame; forests and woodland areas are my haunts. I am not ablaze, despite what my name suggests, as I soar through the air around you. What creature is this that hides the darkness away and keeps things lit during the nocturnal hours?

I start with a flame, bright and bold, I shrink in my strength, though I still glow, What am I, as I fade slow?

I brighten up a windowless room on a sunny day. No flick of a switch, or bulb needed in any way.
