Each day, I rise, I recede, never fall: lands of earth know my touch, one and all- The wise once saw me as proof, the world is round: for heavens move me, a truth profound.

On my night you’ll visit those you love, bring their favorite foods but share none. You’ll dance and sing their favorite tunes, but they will not listen. You’ll light candles they cannot see, and watch as they glisten.

I have one lens, but see the world in two. I magnify, yet am not a telescope's view. I perch upon a face, a singular display, a sign of elegance, or perhaps a bygone day.

My name is a color, but it's not why I'm sweet, I'm Venus and Mars, and a star without heat, I'm a symbol of war, and I'm quite close to death, But my hips will still sway when you can't feel my breath
