I have a voice but never speak and call the distant from their sleep I hang above the busy streets or rest where secrets buildings keep When hands or hammers wake my heart my silver song begins to flow Across the town my echoes travel telling everyone what they should know I may announce a time of joy or warn of danger drawing near In towers high or doorways small my ringing voice is yours to hear I have no lungs and yet I sing what am I that makes the whole world listen
